密室的交通

經文: 「你禱告的時候，要進你的內屋。」（馬太福音六：6）

你可曾想過，這是何等尊貴的特權，每天我們都可來到密室，與創造天地的主相會，並聽祂慈愛的叮嚀。我們基督徒理當每天快快樂樂、滿有信心地來到上帝面前。         「你禱告的時候，」耶穌說：「要進你的內屋，關上門，禱告你在暗中的父。」（太六：6）這有兩層深意——關起門來，意味著暫時拋開工作俗務的煩擾，卸下思慮愁煩的纏繞，單獨地與暗中的天父相處禱告，讓上帝的同在（摸著上帝）成為你禱告的主要目標。切記這提醒：單獨與上帝同在。         但這只是開始，我還得花時間感覺祂的同在，並確知祂明白我多麼需要祂的幫助與引導，祂且願意側耳傾聽我的祈禱。同時祂也應許：「那在暗處禱告主的，主必在明處報賞他。」上帝絕對會回應我們的禱告，而且奇妙地做工在我們心中。         這位樂意與人為友的上帝，祂會指示我們如何過密室的生活，並且教導我們如何禱告，並藉著祂來親近父上帝。讓我們單純如小孩子一般，完完全全地信賴耶穌，坦然無懼地向祂承認自己的過錯，並向祂傾吐內心一切的需要，靠著耶穌的名獻上一切的祈求。我們這樣做，絕對不是對空氣講話，因為上帝側耳垂聽我們的呼求。

THE INNER CHAMBER

Scripture: "When thou prayest enter into thine inner chamber." —MATT. vi. 6, R. V.

Have you ever thought what a wonderful privilege it is that every one each day and each hour of the day has the liberty of asking God to meet him in the inner chamber, and to hear what he has to say? We should imagine that every Christian use such a privilege gladly and faithfully.         "When thou prayest," says Jesus, "enter into thine inner chamber, and having shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret." That means two things. Shut the world out, withdraw from all worldly thoughts and occupations, and shut yourself in alone with God, to pray to Him in secret. Let this be your chief object in prayer, to realize the Presence of your heavenly Father. Let your watchword be: Alone with God.         This is only the beginning. I must take time to realize His presence with me, and pray to my Father who seeth in secret, in the full assurance that He knows how I long for His help and guidance, and will incline His ear to me. Then follows the great promise: "Thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly." My Father will see to it that my prayer is not in vain. All through the occupations of a busy day, the answer to my prayer will be granted. Prayer in secret will be followed by the secret working of God in my heart.         As the Lord Jesus has given us the promise of His presence, and shows us the way to the inner chamber, He will assuredly be with us to teach us to pray. It is through Him that we have access to the Father. Be childlike and trustful in your fellowship with Christ. Confess each sin, bring your every need. Offer your prayer to the Father in the name of Christ. Prayer in fellowship with Jesus cannot be in vain.

親近上帝

經文: 「我愛你們，正如父愛我一樣，你們要常在我的愛裡。」（約翰福音十五：9）

從上帝的角度來看，聖父、聖子、聖靈是截然不同，彼此獨立的位格，卻又是三位一體的上帝，祂樂意向人顯現祂自己，渴望人與祂相交來往。         正如同我們每一個人，都是獨立的個體，也知道自己與群體之間，彼此相屬的人倫關係，或親密、或疏遠。這位創造人的上帝，企盼與祂所造的人產生關係，因此能與這位造物主宰有連繫溝通，是我們一生最神聖的呼召。         雖然上帝極願與人溝通，但人的罪使得我們與上帝之間，有鴻溝相隔，無法跨越。甚至有些基督徒自以為頗認識上帝，其實他們對上帝還是很無知，個人與上帝的關係還是很疏遠。         很多人以為只要他們悔改，為上帝所接納，他們就可以上天堂，也可以行出上帝的旨意。他們不明白上帝盼望的是每天與我們有溝通，就像地上的父母，希望兒女們多多陪伴他們，與他們談話。         上帝賜下祂的兒子耶穌，好讓我們藉著耶穌，得以與祂親近，但條件是我們要與耶穌基督有親密的關係。我們愛耶穌，是因耶穌先以那無比的愛愛我們，我們才回應祂的愛。我們本身不會先愛耶穌，但聖靈可以在我們心中動工，幫助我們愛耶穌。但我們必須每天分別一段時間，安靜在上帝面前，讓祂將那豐盛的愛充滿在我們心中，如此我們也要以愛回應那慈愛的上帝。         親愛的弟兄姐妹們，默想這節經文：「愛我的必蒙我父愛他，我也要愛他。」（約十四：21）花時間培養與耶穌的關係，建立彼此的情誼，告訴祂你多麼愛祂，向祂說：「主啊，祢是這樣愛我，我也要將心歸祢，全然愛主！」

FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD

Scripture: "As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love."—JOHN xv. 9

The Three Persons in the Godhead are the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each one knows himself as different from the others. God desires to reveal Himself as a Person.         Each one of us is an individual, knowing himself as distinct from others, and standing in certain relations to others. God will reveal Himself to us as a Person, and it is our holy calling to enter into fellowship with Him.         God greatly desires this intercourse with man. But sin has come between man and his God. Even in the Christian, who thinks he knows God, there is often great ignorance and even indifference to this personal relationship of love to God.         People believe that at conversion their sins are forgiven, that God accepts them so that they may go to heaven, and that they should try to do God's will. But the idea is strange to them that even as a father and his child on earth have pleasure in intercourse, so they may and must each day have this blessed fellowship with God.         God gave Christ His Son to bring us to Himself. But this is only possible when we live in close fellowship with Jesus Christ. Our relationship to Christ rests on His deep, tender love to us. We are not able of ourselves to render Him this love. But the Holy Spirit will do the work in us. For this we need to separate ourselves each day from the world, and turn in faith to the Lord Jesus, that He may shed abroad His love in our hearts, so that we may be filled with a great love to Him.         Dear soul, meditate quietly on this thought. Read the words of Christ in John xiv. 21, "He that loveth Me shall be loved of my Father. I will love Him" Take time to believe in this personal fellowship. Tell Him of your love. Say to Him: "Lord, Thou hast loved me dearly; most earnestly do I desire to love Thee above all."

經文: 我們必因祢歡喜快樂。（雅歌一：4）

我們必因上帝歡喜快樂。我們不必帶著一絲愁煩來開啟歲首之門，開始這新的一年。反之，我們要與歡樂豎琴之甜美旋律唱和，要與欣喜鈸之宏亮聲音共鳴。「來啊，我們要向耶和華歌唱，向拯救我門的磐石歡呼。」（詩九十五：1）。我們這些蒙召的、忠心的、被揀選的人啊，要以上帝的名驅除憂愁，高舉信心的旗幟。讓那些不信的人去為他們的煩惱哀傷吧！我們卻擁有使水變甜的樹，可不將它投入瑪拉的苦泉中，因此，我們要以歡樂讚美主。永恆之靈，完全的保惠師，我們要永不止息崇拜頌揚耶穌之名！耶穌必要獲得我們心中歡樂之冠冕。新郎來臨的時候，我們不能帶著哀傷的心情，因為那是對祂的羞辱。上帝任命我們作天上的歌頌者。讓我們在進入新耶穌撒冷的華廳向祂頌讚以前，預先演習這永恆之歌。我們必歡喜快樂──歡喜與快樂是同義詞──雙重之喜樂，頌讚加上頌讚！縱使在塵世中，有甚麼事物能限制我們在主裏的喜樂呢？在耶穌裏滿有豐盛！祂是無盡福樂河流之源頭，河中豐盛的每一滴水皆在祂裏面！甜美的主耶穌，祢是祢子民當今的產業。在這一年中，恩待我們，讓我們珍視祢的寶貴，從歲首至年終，讓我們能因祢而歡喜快樂。但願正月能始於在主裏的歡樂，讓臘月結束於在耶穌裏的欣喜。

Evening, January 1

Scripture: “We will be glad and rejoice in thee.”(Song of Solomon 1:4)

We will be glad and rejoice in thee. We will not open the gates of the year to the dolorous notes of the sackbut, but to the sweet strains of the harp of joy, and the high sounding cymbals of gladness. “O come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise unto the rock of our salvation.” We, the called and faithful and chosen, we will drive away our griefs, and set up our banners of confidence in the name of God. Let others lament over their troubles, we who have the sweetening tree to cast into Marah's bitter pool, with joy will magnify the Lord. Eternal Spirit, our effectual Comforter, we who are the temples in which thou dwellest, will never cease from adoring and blessing the name of Jesus. We WILL , we are resolved about it, Jesus must have the crown of our heart's delight; we will not dishonour our Bridegroom by mourning in his presence. We are ordained to be the minstrels of the skies, let us rehearse our everlasting anthem before we sing it in the halls of the New Jerusalem. We will BE GLAD AND REJOICE : two words with one sense, double joy, blessedness upon blessedness. Need there be any limit to our rejoicing in the Lord even now? Do not men of grace find their Lord to be camphire and spikenard, calamus and cinnamon even now, and what better fragrance have they in heaven itself? We will be glad and rejoice IN THEE . That last word is the meat in the dish, the kernel of the nut, the soul of the text. What heavens are laid up in Jesus! What rivers of infinite bliss have their source, aye, and every drop of their fulness in him! Since, O sweet Lord Jesus, thou art the present portion of thy people, favour us this year with such a sense of thy preciousness, that from its first to its last day we may be glad and rejoice in thee. Let January open with joy in the Lord, and December close with gladness in Jesus.

經文: 「所以我們不喪膽，外體雖然毀壞，內心卻一天新似一天。」（哥林多後書四：16）

許多基督徒，都忽略「每日靈修」的重要，因為這信息並沒有在一開始蒙恩得救時就被清楚教導，因此基督徒常常不明白「每日靈修」的重要性。基督徒既然蒙受上帝赦罪的恩典，成為上帝的兒女，享受聖靈的喜樂，就當知道靈命的成長，必須靠每日與上帝的溝通，才能保持。         因為真理教導的不夠清楚，許多基督徒就冷淡退後，他們不知道如何抵擋世界的誘惑，也不知道如何攻克己身，他們極想抗拒罪惡，服事上帝，卻發現力不從心，常與現實妥協。他們從未經驗過聖經的應許：上帝要每天不斷地做工在我們身上。但這有個先決條件——就是每天要花時間安靜在上帝面前，讓祂有機會向你施恩。花時間靜默在上帝面前的時間，絕不會浪費，祂要親自向你施恩，賜你力量，叫你成長。         馬太福音十一章28節主應許：「凡勞苦擔重擔的人，可以到我這裡來，我就使你們得安息。」主要教導我們祂是如何柔和謙卑，向祂低頭敬拜吧！告訴祂我們是如何渴望祂的愛，盼望與祂同在，祂要向我們展現祂的笑顏。這樣的信息，不僅對年輕基督徒極為需要，凡愛慕上帝顯現的信徒，也一樣需要這樣的信息，但願本書，能夠幫助你與上帝更親近。我希望把這信息傳遞得更清楚，更具說服力。不但為討耶穌歡心的緣故，也為我自己能更蒙福，我願實踐靈命成長的祕訣——每天花一段時間親近主，絕無例外。——如此，我外體雖然毀壞，內心卻一天新似一天。

FROM DAY TO DAY

Scripture: "The inner man is renewed from day to day."—2 COR. iv 16.

There is one lesson that all young Christians should learn, namely this—the absolute necessity of fellowship with Jesus each day. This lesson is not always taught at the beginning of the Christian life, nor is it always understood by the young convert. He should realize that the grace he has received of the forgiveness of sins, of acceptance as God's child, of joy in the Holy Ghost, can only be preserved by the daily renewal in fellowship with Jesus Christ Himself.         Many Christians backslide because this truth is not clearly taught. They are unable to stand against the temptations of the world, or of their old nature. They strive to do their best to fight against sin, and to serve God, but they have no strength. They have never really grasped the secret: The Lord Jesus will every day from heaven continue His work in me. But on one condition—the soul must give Him time each day to impart His love and His grace. Time alone with the Lord Jesus each day is the indispensable condition of growth and power.         Read Mart. xi. 25-30. Listen to Christ's word: "Come unto Me, and I will give you rest. Learn of Me, and ye shall find rest unto your souls." The Lord will teach us just how meek and humble He is. Bow before Him, tell Him that you long for Him and His love, and He will let His love rest on you. This is a thought not only for young Christians, but for all who love the Lord, and this book would fain help those who desire to live this life of fellowship with Christ. We will try to put the message as clearly, as lovingly, as urgently as possible. For Christ's sake, and in order to please Him; for my own sake, and to enable me to enjoy this blessed experience each day, I will learn the lesson, to spend time each day—without exception— in fellowship with my Lord. So will the inner man be renewed from day to day.

愛是全然的獻上

經文: 「主為我們捨命，我們從此就知道何為愛，我們也當為弟兄捨命。」（約翰壹書三：16）

耶穌捨命不只是在十字架流血那一剎那，而是從一開始，祂就完全順服上帝旨意，來到人間，服務人類，醫治人心。上帝對我們的恩典是如此浩大，即使我們賠上了性命也償還不了，而耶穌親自做我們的榜樣，要我們也將生命擺上，為服事我們的弟兄而活。         緊緊抓著這真理——上帝愛的力量，促使耶穌願將生命完全為我們擺上。那同樣的力量也為我們預備，只要我們願意順服，我們也能將別人靈魂的得救，做為我們終生職志。那些願完全保守自己在上帝愛中的，必能感受到聖靈豐沛的能力，這是基督徒蒙福的生活，能像耶穌般服事別人而活。         我們會發現，即使沒讀過什麼書的人，只要有基督之愛的火苗在心中燃燒，他就能迫切地為他人代禱，服事別人。         我最近看到一篇故事，書中女主角還是個十歲女孩，因著被上帝的愛感動，就願意熱心地領人認識耶穌，後來她唸寄宿學校，每天不間歇地禱告靈修，又帶領了許多人認識救主。到她十九歲時，她成為正式傳道人，在軍中傳福音，一生奉獻在這個祭壇上。上帝賜給她熱切愛人靈魂的心，以及火熱禱告的靈，堅立她獻身的工場，多年努力不懈耕耘，成為活生生的範例，顯明上帝能幫助人做到一生都在服事別人，並且引人歸主。         親愛的弟兄姐妹們，深刻默想這個真理，耶穌基督將祂生命都捨給我們，我們豈不也當將生命獻上？我們實在欠傳福音的債，願基督的愛大大激勵我們，讓我們向祂支取所需的能力與恩典，努力勇敢地向世人傳福音。

LOVE DEMANDS ALL

Scripture: "Hereby know -we love, because He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren."— 1 JOHN iii. 16.

It was not only on the Cross that Christ gave His life for us: that was the consummation of a life that from the beginning was surrendered to the service and healing of man. The debt that rests upon each one of us as a consequence is not discharged if we are called upon suddenly to lay down our life. The example of Christ bids us give our whole life in service to our brethren.         Try to grasp this truth. The strength of God's love in Christ enabled Him to give up His life wholly for us. The same strength is available for us, and as we yield ourselves wholly to it we shall be able to make the welfare of souls the central object of our lives. One who gives himself wholly into the keeping of God's love will feel its power and all-sufficiency. This is the blessedness of the Christian life—giving our lives wholly for others even as Christ did.         One sometimes finds, even among unlearned people, that where the fire of love to Christ burns there is an unquenchable desire to pray and work for others. I read lately a story of a young girl only ten years of age, whose heart had been so touched by the love of Christ that she began at once to lead others to Him. A few years later, when she went to a boarding-school, it was her daily prayer and endeavor to bring others to know and love her Saviour. This continued until her nineteenth year, when she became a regular worker among soldiers, giving all her time and energy to the work. The Lord gave her such a spirit of prayer and such love to souls that for many years she continued that work, a living example to all of how God could enable one to spend her life in the service of others, and specially in winning them for Christ.         Dear reader, take this thought into your heart. Christ gave His life for you and you are a debtor who owes his life to the brethren. The love of Christ constrains you and will supply all the power and strength needed.

對弟兄之愛

經文: 「你們要彼此相愛，像我愛你們一樣，這就是我的命令。」（約翰福音十五：12）

許多人壓根兒就認為要遵行這命令是不可能的，甚至連這樣的意圖都沒有。但如果你存禱告的心細讀這本書的最後兩章，就會發現其實上帝已經預備能力，讓我們能實踐這命令。         你將明白耶穌愛我們的大愛，也就是上帝愛耶穌的愛。天父在耶穌身上的愛，其實就是耶穌的化身，這層關係就如同耶穌與我們之間的關係一樣。因著祂愛我們，祂的愛就住在我們裡面，也就是耶穌祂自己住在我們裡面。         聖經上也說：「人若說，我愛上帝，卻恨他的弟兄，就是說謊話的。」（約壹四：20）因他若不能愛看得見的弟兄，怎能愛那看不見的上帝呢？對弟兄懷恨就顯示他不夠愛上帝，反之，愛弟兄，就顯示他愛上帝。         讓我們試著去了解，上帝給我們的命令不是唱高調，扔下一個不可能做到的任務給我們；耶穌道成肉身，來到人間，彰顯上帝的愛，就是最具體的明證。如今祂回到天上，把祂的愛留在世上，託付門徒要彼此相愛，就如祂愛門徒那般。         耶穌又應許說：藉著我所賜下的聖靈，我要住在你裡面，並幫助你能用我的愛來愛弟兄。我要住在每一位上帝兒女的心中，因著你去關懷其他的弟兄，弟兄的信心與愛心也因此滋長；因著你們彼此相愛，世人就看出上帝的愛，真是藉著你們流露出來。         上帝的兒女們，花時間跪在這位賜恩典的主面前，敬拜祂、歌頌祂、讚美祂，祂就要住在我們心中，使我們心中有耶穌的愛，可以來愛弟兄、愛眾人，藉此讓世人看到上帝真是活在我們當中。

OUR LOVE TO THE BRETHREN

Scripture: "This is My commandment, that ye love one another, even as I have loved you."—JOHN xv. 12.

So many people deem it quite impossible to keep this command, that they do not even attempt to keep it. But one who reads prayerfully and carefully the last two chapters of this book will see that the Lord has indeed made provision for the fulfilment of this command. The reader will learn that the great love wherewith the Father loved the Son is the love with which Christ loves us. Even as the love of the Father in the Son was His whole life, and worked with a divine power in Him, so the relationship between the Lord Jesus and ourselves is the same. As He loves us, His love comes to abide in us, because He Himself dwells within us.         Even the world agrees that if a man says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? Hatred toward a brother is a sign that a man does not love God. Love toward a brother is an indication that he loves God.         Let us try to understand what the Lord really means by this command. He came to earth to make known God's love to us. He was returning to the Father. He had revealed the love of God the Father, and would leave this love on earth in charge of His disciples. He said to them: "Love one another, as I have loved you." Remember that through the Holy Spirit, whom I will send, I am dwelling within you and will enable you to love the brethren with My own love. I dwell in each one of My disciples. As you love others in the power of My love, they will also grow strong to love. And this will be a powerful sign that My love is in you, when the world is convinced, that as in Me, so in you, the Father has shed abroad His love.         Child of God, bow at the feet of your blessed Lord, and worship and adore Him for His wonderful grace, and He will take up His abode in your heart, in the love of the Father, and give you the love wherewith to love your brethren, and so prove to the world that God is truly in our midst.
