| 經文: 「不要愛世界，和世界上的事；人若愛世界，愛父的心就不在他裡面了。」（約翰壹書二：15） | |
| 約翰清楚教導我們何謂「世界」，他說：「因為凡世界上的事，就像肉體的情慾，眼目的情慾，並今生的驕傲，都不是從父來的，乃是從世界來的。」（約壹二：16） 這世界就是人類犯罪墮落後，所造成的撒旦所管轄的黑暗權勢地盤。這世界的神為欺騙世人，就化裝成光明的天使，隱藏自己在上帝所造的萬物背後，並用各種感官的刺激享樂，每天不斷的誘惑基督徒。 夏娃當年在伊甸園的情況就是這樣，在創世記第三章的描述，就有約翰所提的三種現象：第一，肉體的情慾：這女人看這樹上的果子很好吃。第二，眼目的情慾：那果子悅人眼目。第三：今生的驕傲：這果子吃了叫人有智慧。（創三：6）到今日這世界仍以美味食物及感官享受，來誘惑我們。又以珠光寶氣，香車華廈等奢侈品吸引我們眼目；又用學識、地位等名聲來滿足我們的虛榮心。 這世界充滿了悅人眼目，霸佔我們心思意念的虛浮事物，這些都是危險陷阱，要俘擄我們的心。所以約翰說：「人若愛世界，愛父的心就不在他裡面了。」（約壹二：15）因此，主耶穌呼召我們，有如當年呼召門徒那樣，要撇下所有來跟隨主。 親愛的弟兄姐妹們，這世界臥在惡者的權勢之下，撒但有如吼叫的獅子，隨時準備吞吃我們。我們一定要緊緊地抓住上帝，就像主耶穌教導我們的那樣，要逃避這世界的誘惑，將心歸給耶穌良人，忠心地來服事祂。但首先要做到每天來親近上帝，惟有祂的愛可以讓世上的珍品黯然失色，所以要記得每天花時間安靜地等候在主面前。 | |

| THE WORLD | |
| Scripture: "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him." —1 JOHN ii. xv. | |
| John teaches us clearly what he means by the world. He says: "All that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life is not of the Father, but is of the world" (1 John ii. 16). The world is that disposition or power under which man has fallen through sin. And the god of this world, in order to deceive man, conceals himself under the form of what God has created. The world with its pleasures surrounds the Christian each day with temptations. This was the case with Eve in the Garden of Eden. We find in Genesis iii, the three characteristics which John mentions: 1. The lust of the flesh—"The woman saw the tree that it was good for food." 2. The lust of the eyes—"It was pleasant to the eyes." 3. The pride of life—"A tree to be desired to make one wise." And the world still comes to us offering desirable food and much to please the fleshly appetites. And much that the eye desires, riches and beauty and luxury. And the pride of life, when a man imagines he knows and understands everything, and prides himself on it. Is our life in the world not full of danger, with the allurements °f the flesh,—so much to occupy our eyes and our hearts, so much worldly wisdom and knowledge? So John tells us: "Love not the world, for then the love of the Father is not in you." And our Lord calls us, as He called His disciples of old, to leave all and follow Him. Christian, you live in a dangerous world. Cleave fast to the Lord Jesus. As He teaches you to shun the world and its attractions, your love will go out to Him in loyal-hearted service. But remember—There must be daily fellowship with Jesus. His love alone can expel the love of the world. Take time to be alone with your Lord. | |
